This amazing two story house is set on One Foot Island and if you ever want to get lost and hide from the world for three days, this is the place.
The house is totally off the grid! With light being provided by lanterns and all cooking is done on a gas stove. It does have a toilet and shower so you are not totally camping.
Its takes about half an hour to travel to this island which is situated in the stunting Aitutaki Lagoon from the main Island of Aitutaki, and I have to say, just how many different shades of blue the sea will show you is truly amazing!
Self-catering is the go when you stay here, so you’re best to pick up all your supplies from the supermarket in town and have them taken out to the island with you. Make sure you get enough supplies to last for another three days as you are totally by yourself on this island, so if you run out you run out.
If you are a keen fly fisher (which I am) the flats around this island have some of the best bone fishing in the world, but if that’s not your thing, you can swim; walk sand flats or just day dream about spending your days doing nothing.
So if you feel like playing Swiss family Robinson for a few days this is the place, but please take some good coffee making equipment with you, as there are certain standards one should always keep!
